Where to eat in Singapore Chinatown: $1 Peking duck at Spring Court Chinese Restaurant

We left the Singapore Zoo around 6 pm. There were 6 of us and we had to take two taxis. The taxi queue was very long and a middle-aged guy told us that we had to wait for more than 2 hours. To save time, we called a 7 seater taxi. The fare is SGD 55 per trip no matter where you go. We waited the taxi for only 15 minutes. The driver gave me his name card and you could call him if you need the service: Szetoh K.Y. +(65) 9623 7995.

Spring Court Chinese Restaurant

We did not know where to have dinner so we asked for the driver’s help. He brought us to Spring Court, a Chinese Restaurant located at Chinatown.

The staff in the restaurant asked us whether we made a reservation but we did not. Luckily, we were there early and there were some empty tables. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. The waiter told us that we could get a Peking duck for only SGD 1 if the total cost of our order was more than SGD 84.

Spring Court Teochew Steamed Fish

We ordered a Teochew-style steamed fish, two stir-fried vegetables and a Peking duck for $1. How much did we really pay? It was SGD 111.85 including snacks, tea and hand towels. We also paid an extra $5 for cutting the duck into small pieces. It was a great dinner and we all enjoyed it. Staffs are very friendly and services are very good too.

As Taxi are not allowed to take more than four people. I walked to Chinatown alone and took the MRT back to hotel. A great day has ended and again, it is almost 4 am now. OTL
