I’ve learned how to make a cocoa pound cake today. Pound cake is a type of cake traditionally made with a pound of each of four ingredients: butter, sugar, eggs, and flour. Ratio: 1:1:1:1.
How to make Cocoa Pound Cake
Ingredients:
125g butter
125g sugar
125g eggs (2-3 depends on the size of the eggs)
125g all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
6 tsp cocoa powder
Some almond slices
Method:
1. Grease and flour a loaf pan. Chill the pan until use.
2. Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together. Beat the egg.
3. Cream the butter. Add sugar and whisk until fluffy.
4. Add the egg and whisk little by little 4 or 5 times until well mixed.
5. Gently fold the flour into the mixture until well mixed.
6. Pour the batter slowly into the loaf pan.
7. Tap the filled loaf pan on the counter a few times to let out air.
8. Dent the center with a spatula and sprinkle some almond slices on top.
9. Bake in preheated oven at 170°C for 30 to 35 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
