Koong Woh Tong Branches can be found in most of the shopping malls in Malaysia such as The Mines, Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid, One Utama, Time Square, etc. Koong Woh Tong specializes in herbal tea and herbal jelly. During old days, herbal tea is actually selling at roadside and you can still find it at Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. When and why we like to drink herbal tea and eat herbal jelly? As everyone knows, Malaysia’s weather is hot! We do not have four seasons, only sunny or rainy day. Even though we do not have pretty snow and maple trees, but we do have a lot of mouth-watering foods. Koong Woh Tong’s beneficial herbal jelly is made from more than twenty Chinese herbs which we believe it not only helps cooling down our inner body but good for our skin too – big pot RM 11, small pot for RM 8 – along with a teapot of honey which you can add in to adjust the taste, most of us treat it as a dessert.
Koong Woh Tong Branches Malaysia
Originally from China, the business then expanded to Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Today, there are more than 10 Koong Woh Tong Branches in Malaysia. Most of which, located in shopping malls. There is one in Chinatown. There are two types of Koong Woh Tong’s traditional herbal tea to choose from, one is “Wong Lo Kat” which is slightly bitter but it is thought to be good for detox – bowl RM 1.3, cup RM 2 – you can ask them to add in medicine powder (RM 2.7) or cooling tablet (RM 1) if you have serious sore throat or feeling heaty. My most-loved is the “Five Flower herbal tea” – bowl RM 1.3, cup RM 2 – it is yellowish, not bitter and can quench thirst. Recently, I found that we can make our own herbal jelly and herbal tea at home. Go to “Ren An” Chinese herbal store in Mid valley mall to buy the ready-packed ingredients. Ren An herbal jelly tastes better than Koong Woh Tong. It is very easy to cook too. If you do not have time, just visit Koong Woh Tong Branches to get what you want.
