Siam Paragon

Everything is back to normal. The streets are as busy and noisy as usual. I’m still the same. I’m not sure whether I’m resting or I’m actually wasting time. They said to rest is to walk farer. But I think I’ve already rest for quite a long time and I’m still resting. Shall I find something different to do? They also said opportunities are for those who prepared, am I prepared? I’m so lazy recently. I don’t feel like going anywhere. Those tourist attractions are quite boring. There are a few places I haven’t go – Victory Monument, Grand Palace Bangkok, Silom Road, Patpong Night Market, Ampawa Floating Market, Samut Songkhram, Kanchanaburi (Bridge over the River Kwai, Death Railway, Elephant riding, Tiger temple). Let’s talk about Siam Paragon today.

BTS SkyTrain Sukhumvit Line and get off at Siam Station, Exit 3. We went there for dinner on my sister’s birthday (24 March).

Siam Paragon Food Court

Sister knew that I don’t have much money left in my bank account, so she suggested eating at the food court, very nice sweet caring sister. I always think that I have a good sister, but my sister has a bad sister (me). Anyway, it’s her birthday, I want something western. I couldn’t remember when was the last time I celebrated her birthday with her, perhaps not even once since we grew up as adults. I was really very happy that day. I was happier than the birthday girl. I really love my sister and I want to be a good sister to her too.

We went Amici Italian Restaurant for our dinner and I was going to pay for it. We ordered a signature spaghetti – Seafood Tornado Sauce (420 Baht) and a Flat Head Lobster (780 Baht) only. If you pay with Citibank Credit Card, you’ll get 10% discount. Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% tax. I paid a total of 1306.47 Baht for that meal.

Thann Tea Café

Thann Tea Cafe

Thann Tea Café is quite famous in Thailand. We went the Siam Paragon branch to look for some desserts but the atmosphere there couldn’t attract us, so we left Siam Paragon and walked to Siam Center. We made a Magnum Ice Cream there and then we went Centara Grand Hotel for a drink. I will cover more in my next entry. Thann Tea Café is at Siam Paragon M floor, you can ask the location of it at the information counter near Fendi. Try Thann Tea Café in the Gaysorn shopping mall. I heard that the design of the café there is much more special.

Exotique Thai offers beautiful unique artistic creations while increasing your appreciation of Thai arts and crafts. Whether it is a household item of everyday life or that very special gift, they all are part of the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.

Siam Paragon Cinema

Paragon Cineplex, the best Bangkok VIP movie theater, 5th floor, Siam Paragon.

Siam Paragon’s Enigma Theater is the most expensive movie-watching experience in Bangkok, 3000 Baht per ticket. What you get?

“Theater staff will start you off in the VIP lounge with a complimentary glass of booze. Choices include wine (Jacob’s Creek), cocktails, or whiskey (Chivas). Then there are some sizable appetizers, with a choice of pasta, savory crepes, dessert or a vegetarian option. The 34 seats inside are sofa beds. Once seated, staff will come by and refill your soft drink regularly, although some may be disappointed to learn you only get one serving of free popcorn. Still, staff say that next year they plan to change this and introduce new in-movie eating options.”

Siam Paragon’s Nokia Ultra Screen, 700 to 800 Baht per ticket. What you get?

“Watch a film in one of three VIP theaters with motorized reclining seats. With only 72 seats in one theater and around 30 seats in the other two, there’s plenty of legroom here. Tickets include a snack and drink provided up to an hour before the movie in the Cineplex’s VIP lounge, and more importantly, a complimentary foot massage. If you take two minutes to get a member card for 50 baht, you’ll get a 100 baht discount on the VIP tickets.”

I’m not wealthy enough to watch a movie with 3000 Baht or 800 Baht. I got those information from the net. So share your experience with me if you went. Though catching a film in a Bangkok Movie Theater doesn’t usually feature high on many tourists’ “to-do” lists. However, I hope you try at least once if you have time to do so. I went to a normal local cinema – Major Cineplex Ram Khamhaeng – two three years ago with my brother and his girlfriend to watch Harry Potter. Normal seat is around 120 Baht and couple seat around 140 Baht. The seat was very comfy and they gave us free drinks as well. It’s quite a good experience.
