Paper Wrapped Chicken | Restaurant Leong Ya Indah

We just celebrated Father’s Day a few days ago at Restaurant Leong Ya Indah, a Chinese restaurant famous for paper wrapped chicken *finger licking good* – chicken wrapped in grease paper; full of special gravy; can be eaten with rice or alone. Paper Wrapped Chicken is one of my favourite childhood food. I usually had it on my birthday or some specialty day. My family was not wealthy but we had more than enough. Paper Wrapped Chicken is not something that you can find easily at anywhere. As far as I know, at KL, you can find it at Leong Ya. At Bukit Mertajam, you can find it at Sentosa night market there. Sorry for my limited knowledge. Please leave me a comment if you know better than me. Thanks in advance.

In addition to Paper Wrapped Chicken, we ordered chicken dice in yam basket ($16), Teow Chew steamed Pomfret ($72), supreme soya sauce fried prawn ($36), house speciality tofu ($12), stir-fried spicy assorted beans ($16) and fried assorted vegetables ($16) as you can see from the photo below. The dinner cost about $200 of which paper wrapped chicken cost $3.20 for a piece. Food are nice. Price is reasonable. Ambiance is okay. Just a bit noisy when there are many people in the restaurant. Cleanliness is good too.
Restaurant Leong Ya Indah
FYI, there are three restaurants under the name Leong Ya within the same vicinity.
Location: No. 26-28, Jalan Dagang SB 4/1, Taman Sg. Besi SK4, Balakong, 43300 Sri Kembangan, Selangor Darul Ehsan.
It is a little bit far if you stay at Subang or Petaling Jaya. However, at least visit the restaurant once in your lifetime. You must try the Paper Wrapped Chicken. It is really something special. The chicken is very tender. I can eat two drumsticks a time. My saliva is flowing out now. Go Go Go. You will not regret.
